Your local Lions will be holding an information day stall with BBQ at Bligh Park shopping centre on 17 October, from 10am - 2pm.  Come along and learn how you can help us help you, and see what a difference Lions can make, while sampling quality sauagaes hot off the BBQ.

Masters BBQ at Rouse Hill, Saturday 28 November 2015

At Lions, we don't discriminate; it's not all Bunnings BBQs!  Come along and grab a sausage sandwich at Masters Rouse Hill.  Money raised on the day will assist us with putting funds back into the local community.

Past events:

Comleroy Rd Public School Country Fair, Sunday 24 May 2015

It was a massive day out at Comleroy Road Public School at their 2015 fund raising event.  We invited you to enjoy this country fair, help out the school and come and see us at the BBQ stand for steak, sausages, eggs and bacon sandwiches.  You came in droves!

Bunnings BBQ at Marsden Park, Saturday 2 May - Lions Biggest BBQ 2015

You came along and got a quality sausage sandwich to give you energy for that shopping and DYI project.  Funds raised on the day contributed to the Lions Biggest BBQ, raising funds to combat childhood cancer, as well as other local community assistance.

ANZAC Day dawn service 25 April 2015

Members of the Hawkesbury South Lions Club offer hot tea/coffee to those attending the Dawn Service at McQuade Park, Windsor on ANZAC Day.  With over 10,000 people in attendance from 4am, it was an opportunity to get a steaming hot cuppa for a gold coin donation whilst being a part of this special event.

Fundraiser for Chelsea, Saturday 28 March 2015

Our members gave up their time to help out at this worthy event, helping a local family to raise the money for much needed and life transforming medical equipment.

Londonderry Public School Fair 2014

We like to help our local schools, who can find it tough to raise that little bit extra to improve their facilities.  A busy day at the BBQ, helping out at other stalls and seeing the money raised going to grass-roots needs at the school made this a very satisfying event to be involved with in 2014.

Oasis PCYC Family Fun Day 2014

A double - win for our memebrs at this event - helping the community, encouraging outdoor activities and fitness on a beautiful sunny day, and a chance to meet new and interesting people.  With over 400 attendees, fire truck displays, radio stations on site and face painting for the littlies, the day was a great success.

Hawkesbury Hospital Country Fair, Saturday 18th August 2012

From 8am till 3pm, rain, hail or shine. Come and see us at the sausage sizzle, and enjoy the activities while you are there.

Childrens rides and activities all day, Raffle & Chocolate Wheel, food & beverage stalls, Art & Craft stalls, dance, music and martial arts displays, White Elephant, local business stalls and community service groups.

Loads of fun while supporting your local hospital, all money raised will purchase medical equipment which will benefit the Hawkesbury community...See you there!!

The Lions Biggest BBQ 2012

On March 31st ran a BBQ at the Tiningi centre on Rifle Range Rd, Bligh Park,as part of the Bligh Park Festival being run by Bligh Park Community Services. All proceeds from the BBQ were donated to the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation (ALCCRF), as were the proceeds from other Lions Clubs around Australia participating in the Lions Biggest BBQ throughout April.

Since 1996, ALCCRF has been searching for the causes of, and a cure for this terrible disease, working towards a goal of 100% survival for kids with cancer.

A great day was had, and thanks to the local community we were able to donate $450 to this worthwhile cause. Even got a visit from a local MP!!

Helping overseas

Our December 2011 Bunnings BBQ, raised funds for projects in India including providing fresh drinking water to schools and providing funding for operations for children with cleft lip and/or cleft palate, improving their lives and offering hope for a brighter future.

Earlier events and projects

Earlier this year, as part of MP Louise Markus's Youth Project, volunteers cleaned graffiti from fences in Bligh Park.  Our Lions Club members were on hand to cook sausages and provide drinks and ice creams for those participating in the cleanup.  After a long, hot day with the ice cream exhausted, the drinks in high demand and shade a welcome relief, the fences looked terriffic and the youths who volunteered could be proud of a job well done.

Hawkesbury South Lions uses funds we raise to aid our local community.  We have helped Bligh Park OOSH (Before and After Care and Vacation Care) obtain a new refridgerator and provided bariatic scales to the Hawkesbury District Hospital.

We aren't all about hard work!  Hawkesbury South Lions have hosted a number of successful trivia nights, where winning is second to the fun of chocolate wheels, auctions, coin tosses and laughter.  Funds raised at the trivia nights have assisted students from Bede Polding travel overseas as volunteer workers, and provided much needed equipment for the Berkshire Park Rural Fire Service.

Our members also give a helping hand where needed, joining in activities like Clean Up Australia Day. In the past we've cleaned up the area around Tiningi, and joined with community members and scout groups to clean up local sporting and recreational reserves You are welcome to join us!

Many Lions Clubs work together on events to ensure a successful day. Each Australia Day Riverstone, Richmond Hawkesbury South and other local Lions Clubs join together to run the BBQ at Featherdale Wildlife Park.  Despite the 5am starts, we all have lots of fun putting the day together and serving everyone attending the Blacktown Council event.
